Instructional Design

Changing Times Require Training That Thinks Outside the Box!

Thinking outside the box
Depending upon the types of skill upgrades needed and the population involved, training can be a challenge. Cutting edge technology may not allow time for books to be written or formal courses to be created to get your team up to speed. Individuals may need to improve soft skills discretely or at odd hours. The group that needs to be trained may be broadly dispersed.

A variety of options is available. You just need to think outside the box. Your best choice may not be an instructor led course (ILT), a webinar or on-line course. Blogs or mailing lists may allow those who understand topics to share with those who do not. Mentors and coaches may be appropriate. For less time-sensitive topics, simulations or roll playing in person or cyberspace may be an answer. Let cKc Consultants help you determine the best options for you, put the plan in place and assess the results. Using research-based adult education techniques, and ADDIE or ASSURE formats, solutions that fit your needs and provide return on your investment can be created.

cKc Consultants offers instructional design for your training needs.

Whether you are looking for instructor-led classroom training (ILT), computer-based training (CBT), web-based training (WBT), webinars or a blended program, cKc Consultants can work with your content experts to create materials to meet the needs of your staff and facilities. As new staff is added to your company, time is required to orient them to your company's history, policies, procedures and the physical location of the materials they will need. While a mentor is important, the time lost to this process can be reduced through training programs and materials. Safety issues can be reinforced and legal obligations met. If you are initiating new procedures or have found that staff needs training on topics relevant to their duties or interaction, a program can be established to provide uniform dispersal of information that is appropriate to varying employee needs. Contact us for more individualized details.

Training follows an ADDIE or ASSURE format using research-based techniques.

While this looks simple, each stage has multiple layers. Balancing the time and expense is best justified using research based statistics and evaluation of both the trainees and the program.

What is an ADDIE format? What is an ASSURE format?
